On September 18, 2023, at 16:00, Georgian National University SEU hosted a round table. The event was part of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet competition winner project titled ‘European Green Deal – Just Transition in Education.
During the event, the Project manager, Dr. Irakli Samkharadze, the Vice-Rector Dr. Anna Phirtskhalashvili and other project experts discussed the work accomplished and upcoming activities since the project’s beginning. The event was attended and contributed online by Dr. Matteo Fermeglia, a project expert, who discussed the significance of the project and the challenges associated with it in Georgia and EU member states. Also, Dr. Teona Lavrelashvili, an analyst at the European Political Center, addressed to Georgia’s integration into the European Union and provided an overview of the current situation in this context. The discussion primarily centered on the content and objectives of the new university course titled ‘European Green Deal – Legal Perspectives,’ which is of particular interest to master’s students who will be able to enroll in it starting this academic year. Additionally, the project’s website – www.greendeal.ge – was introduced by Ms. Lili Saladze, and details about a certificate course and summer school opportunities planned within the project’s scope were provided.
At the end of the event, the auditorium dedicated to the Jean Monnet module was inaugurated. This auditorium symbolizes the high-quality research conducted by the university in the field of European integration and its commitment to promoting European issues within the activities of Jean Monnet.
